– Computer hardware and software, electricity, networking terminology, and protocols
– LANs and WANs, Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, Ethernet, and Internet Protocol (IP) addressing
– Design and documentation of a basic network and structured cabling
– Layer 1 (physical) Implementation and concept: cabling, standard, equiments, problems
– Layer 2 (datalink) Implementation and concept: ethernet, frame, ARP, RARP
– Layer 3 (network) Implementation and concept: IP, addressing, routing, routing protocol, routed protocol, ICMP
– Layer 4 (Transport) Implementation and concept: layer4 protocol, TCP, UDP, layer4 concepts.
– Layer 5 (session) Implementation and concept: why do we need session? example of session protocol
– Layer 6 (Presentation) Implementation and concept: layer6 set of rules, algorithm
– Layer 7 (Application) Implementation and concept: application, protocols
– Security: firewall
– lab: crimping tool, layer 2 bridge/switch, packet tracer, network application
